Hoeven SenWashington (CSi) Senator John Hoeven Friday announced that the Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded $122,000 to the South Central Dakota Regional Council, in Jamestown, and the Tri-County Regional Development Council to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) for these regions.

Hoeven said, “In recent years, North Dakota has been the fastest growing state in the country in terms of both population and our economy. These EDA grants will bring North Dakota’s public and private sectors together in creating an economic development plan to diversify and strengthen the regional economy.”

The grants are awarded as follows:

· $61,000 for the South Central Dakota Regional Council, which serves Barnes, Dickey, Foster, Griggs, LaMoure, Logan, McIntosh, Stutsman and Wells counties.

· $61,000 for the Tri-County Regional Development Council, which is comprised of Divide, McKenzie and Williams counties.
