BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Freezing rain and snow are creating poor travel conditions in northwestern North Dakota.
The state Transportation Department has issued a travel alert for the region that includes Williston, Watford City, Stanley and Tioga. Officials say motorists can still travel but should be aware of the danger and drive according to conditions.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for freezing rain and snow for northwest and north central North Dakota. Forecasters say 3-5 inches of snow could accumulate on top of the ice by late Tuesday.
