Jamestown (CSi) University of Jamestown theatre director Mike McIntyre has announced an upcoming production of “Twelfth Night” to be performed April 16th, 17th, and 18th at 7:30 p.m. in Reiland’s Denault Auditorium.
On Thursday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSI Cable 2 McIntyre said, Twelfth Night is a Shakespeare comedy centering on a shipwreck where one half a set of twins survives. Viola, the surviving twin, disguises herself as her brother and becomes a servant to Count Orsino who sends her to woo Olivia for his sake. Olivia falls in love with the disguised Viola and Viola falls in love with Orsino. Then, in perfect Shakespearean comedic tradition, Viola’s brother appears.
