Jamestown (CSi) Fire fighters spent over three hours at a landfill fire on Thursday evening, about 8:30, about a mile east of the baler facility on city property.

Debris and wood in the landfill were on fire.

Jamestown City Fire Chief Jim Reuther, says, there were no injuries or property damage.

Seven city fire units and 32 fire fighters were called, and the Jamestown Rural Fire Department supplied two water tankers, without water access at the scene.

Assisting the firefighters, the city staff used a payloader to cover the fire area with dirt to keep it from flaring up.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.
