JPDbadgeJamestown (CSi) This summer, Jamestown youth wearing a helmet during appropriate activities could find themselves being treated to a free Dairy Queen ice cream cone by the Jamestown Police Department, implementing the “I Got Caught,” safety program, locally.

During the summer months, children in Jamestown and across the state will be rewarded with a free Dairy Queen ice cream cone when spotted wearing a helmet while riding a bike, skateboard, scooter or wearing inline skates.

When “caught” with a helmet, officers will “cite” the child with a mock ticket that will be redeemable at participating DQ’s, including the Jamestown location on Business Loop West.

Chief, Scott Edinger says, “The Jamestown Police Department is looking forward to ‘catching’ your child wearing a helmet. Have a safe and enjoyable summer.”

AAA is partnering with Dairy Queen, the North Dakota Sheriff’s and Deputies Association, the North Dakota Chiefs of Police Association, Safe Kids Fargo Moorhead and Safe Kids Grand Forks, and implemented locally by Jamestown Police, to create the “I Got Caught,” program.
