Oriska (CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports on Thursday about 4:47 a.m., an accident was investigated on I-94 east of Oriska.
The report says a a pickup operated by 55 year old Steven Ward of Fergus Falls, Minnesota was westbound as was a semi-trailer rig operated by 40 year old Ahmed Mhamdi of Chicago.
Ward attempted to pass the semi, and sideswiped the left front bumper of the semi.
After the impact, Ward continued on the highway about two miles before exiting onto Highway 32.
Law Enforcement discovered the vehicle at the Oriska School where Ward was in the process of changing a flat tire.
He was arrested for DUI and will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
Neither driver, nor Mhamdi’s passenger 46 year old Abdelkrim Khattabi, also from Chicago were hurt.
The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene, as the investigation continues.
