JAMESTOWN, N.D. ( KCSi-TV News) – A Jamestown jewelry store was burglarized Sunday (Jun 24, 2012),in a “smash and grab,” type burglary.

Police Lt. John Glente says, burglars entered the Riddles Buffalo Mall store early Sunday morning, about 4:15. He says the alarm in the store was activated, at 4: 14 a.m., which calls the security company, which in turn called the Jamestown Law Enforcement Dispatch Center. 

 He said a Jamestown Police officer was in the area and arrived on the scene a minute later at 4:15 a.m.
Backup units arrived, and upon arrival, discovered the mall’s exterior glass walk in door and inside door shattered.  Entering the mall, the officers discovered the thieves entered the store by breaking the glass display window.
Lt. Gletne says nine glass showcases, and  two glass wall displays, containing jewelry, were shattered and items removed.
He adds, surveillance video showed at least three disguised individuals involved inside the store.
He says the individuals were in the store less than two minutes, carrying out a synchronized, systematic approach to the thefts
Lt. Gletne adds, the process of taking store inventory is likely to take as few days.
No monetary value of the stolen items was immediately available.
He asks that anyone seeing anything suspicious, including vehicles in the area to contact Jamestown Police at 701-252-2414. 

He says local authorities are working with other midwest  law enforcement agencies in the investigation.
Jamestown Police is being assisted in the investigation by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
