richardsonNormaNorma Richardson, 82, Jamestown, ND, died of a heart attack May 17, 2015 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Richardson was born July 14, 1932 in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of John and LaVerne (Sharff) Rolle. She grew up and attended school in Glen Ullin, ND and graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1950. She attended Jamestown College.

Norma married Robert Richardson on September 2, 1952. They lived in Jamestown, ND, and in Moorhead, MN each for one year, returning to Jamestown in 1954 where they have lived since that time. She assisted in the operation of radio station KEYJ (now KQDJ) which her husband owned from 1968 to 1980, and was employed at the Alfred Dickey Public Library from 1970 to 1980.

She was a 4-H leader for several years and was past-president of Jamestown Church Women United. She was a member of the Jamestown Fine Arts Association, serving on the Board of the Arts Center from 2003-2006. She was also a member of the ND State Historical Foundation, the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation and was a life member of the Jamestown National Buffalo Foundation. She was a member of the University of Jamestown Friends of the Fine Arts Society, UJ Booster Club, Portfolio Club and Chapter AS-P.E.O. of which she was past president. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of Friendship Circle and served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a volunteer for The Arts Center, the Anne Carlsen Center for Children, the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, the Cross Ranch Bluegrass Festival and Frontier Village of Jamestown.

She is survived by her husband, three sons – Mark (Lanie), Bay Village, OH; Grant (Michelle), Fargo, ND; Dean, Jamestown and one daughter, Rae Holte (Jeff), Lake Ida, Pelican Rapids, MN; 15 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren; and special family Marge and Jim Michael of Jamestown and Katie and Jordon Elbert of the Chicago area and sister-in-law, Nancy Paulsrud, Beulah, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant granddaughter, Rebekah Holte, and a grandson, Aaron Richardson.

There will be time for reminiscing during an open house Friday, beginning at 5:30 PM, at the Richardson’s home, 1302 6th Ave SW, Jamestown.

Services: at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, May 23, at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Elmo Herman, officiating. Arrangements by Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to University of Jamestown or Anne Carlsen Center, Jamestown.
