JamestownPolice_2Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police report a man was arrested after an altercation involving a taxi driver in Jamestown Monday evening just before 8-p.m., in the 500 block of 1st Avenue South. An intoxicated male passenger allegedly attempted to strangle the taxi driver from the back seat of the cab.

The taxi driver defended himself with a baseball bat, however, one was hurt in the incident.

The passenger was arrested for assault and disorderly conduct.

His name was not immediately available.

He was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for possible detoxification.
