GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – Authorities have found a body in the Red River near downtown Grand Forks while looking for a missing Minnesota man. The body was found Monday night while authorities were searching for 25-year-old Aaron Pigeon, who was last seen Saturday night leaving an area bar. Police have not released the identity of the person found.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A Bismarck man has been charged in connection with a head-on crash in Mandan that killed two people. Twenty-eight-year-old Jordan Morsette is charged with criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular injury. The Highway Patrol says Morsette was intoxicated while driving a pickup truck the wrong way on the Bismarck Expressway early Saturday.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A state wildlife official says the spring pheasant population in North Dakota is up 10 percent. Stan Kohn with the Game and Fish Department says the number of roosters heard crowing statewide is up. Kohn says the higher numbers will lead to a nice breeding population.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Seven lawyers have applied for a newly created judgeship in Mandan. The Supreme Court created the judgeship in the South Central District after the Legislature earlier this year approved four new judgeships around the state. The applicants include one lawyer from Mandan, one from Williston and five attorneys from Bismarck.

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) – The driver of a Jet Ski involved in an accident on a Blue Earth County lake is accused of fleeing after the crash that left a girl severely injured.

Authorities say the 16-year-old girl and another female were on an inner tube and were being pulled by the watercraft when it slammed into a dock on Loon Lake near Lake Crystal last Friday. The 16-year-old hit the dock, while the other female flew over it.

Sheriff’s officials say the girl was in critical condition after the crash, but is improving.

KTOE  reports 23-year-old Lance Jones, of Amboy, and another man left the scene in an SUV after the crash. Authorities say Jones punched a police dog in the head when he was found hiding in a wooded area. Jones says he pulled the injured girl from the water and called 911.

Jamestown  (CSi)  The 118th Stutsman County Fair opens Wednesday July 1, 2015 and runs through the 4th in Jamestown.

The fair opens Wednesday with the project expo, clothing review, exhibits, merchant area and home and hobby. The 4-H judging begins and market beef, sheep, goat and swine reviews will run all day with exhibits up for the rest of the fair.

Gate admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-16, and children age 5 and younger get in  free.

The midway will have 25 rides from Murphy Brothers Exposition. Fairgoers can purchase a $50 mega ride pass for all three days or a $25 daily pass.

A four-day ride pass is $50 until July 1st at Casey’s General Store and Neighborhood Grocery in Jamestown. Single-day wristbands for all rides are available at the gate for $25.

Admission to the Midway exposition is $5 for kids ages 13 and older, $2 for kids ages 7-12, and free for kids ages 6 and under. A four-day expo pass can be purchased for $12.

Rides scheduled includes, The Spinout, Kamikaze, Century Wheel, Kiddy Land as a few rides in the super spectacular category, along with standard rides for children such as the Merry-Go-Round, the Giant Wheel, Starship, Tilt A Whirl and the Sizzler. Game attractions, and concessions – from popcorn to cotton candy and hot dogs.

James River Rodeo Inc. performs at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday the 3rd and 4th, on the north end of the fairgrounds. Sponsored by Jamestown Roughrider Rodeo Association of North Dakota, the event is possible with the support of Erickson Rodeo Bulls and Wilsman Rodeo Co.

The rodeo events include bareback, barrel racing, saddle bronc, goat tying, bull riding, calf roping, ladies and junior breakaway, steer wrestling, team roping and novice barrel racing.

The Don Wilhelm Stock Car Classic will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday Jul 4th at Jamestown Speedway adjacent to the fairgrounds.

Jamestown  (CSi)  The National Buffalo Museum in Jamestown will have activities on the grounds as part of White Cloud Days in Jamestown.
On Monday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, director, Ilana Xinos said on Saturday July 11, 2015 from noon to 4-p.m., there will be carnival booths and games, and to celebrate White Cloud’s birthday sugar cookies will be offered, for the albino buffalo’s birthday.
Also that day it’s Free Admission Day at the museum, in addition to discounted items at the Prairie Winds Gift Shop at the museum.
There will be 20 percent off items for non-members and 25 percent off for museum members.

Jamestown, (CSi)  The Young Professionals of Jamestown (YPJ), a sub-committee of the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce, are hosting a co-ed Sand Volleyball tournament in partnership with White Cloud Days.
White Cloud Days is scheduled for July 10-12; with the volleyball tournament scheduled on July 11th. Game play will take place at the Jamestown Parks and Rec courts next to Wilson Arena (the Larson Center has been reserved in the case of inclement weather.) Cost is only $60 per team and winning team will receive a cash out prize of $120. Games start at 11am and continue throughout the day. Only 8 slots are available and teams must pre-register!
