BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A Bismarck man accused of trying to kill his wife is standing trial in South Central District Court.

Terry Link is charged with attempted murder, interfering with an emergency phone call and preventing arrest last October, about two months after Tamara Link had filed for divorce after a marriage of more than 20 years.

Authorities allege Terry Link held his wife down and tried to strangle her, and threatened her with a kitchen knife. He has pleaded not guilty.

Link could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted on all three counts.
