Pingree, ND (CSi) – The North Dakota Highway patrol reports a fatal head-on pickup and semi truck crash occurred at 3:12am July 3, 2015,  3.5 miles north of Pingree on Highway 52, killing the  driver of the pickup.

The 2014 Ram pickup driven by  24 year Adam Allmaras of New Rockford was southbound, then drifted onto the northbound lane.

The International semi truck, driven by 56 year old Bernard Gorman of Adrian,  was northbound.  Gorman attempted to avoid the crash by braking and driving onto the east shoulder.   A crash occurred, causing the International to enter the east ditch.  The Ram came to rest on the southbound lane.

The extent of injuries to Gorman have not been released.  Sgt Tom Herzig of the ND Highway Patrol estimates $35,000 in damages to the pickup,  and $30,000 to the International Semi.  Gorman was wearing a seatbelt.  It is unknown if the driver of the pickup was wearing a seatbelt.

The highway was shut down for two hours.  The crash remains under investigation.
