Conrad Paulson, 89, of Marion, ND, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 7, 2015 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo.

Conrad “Connie” Clayton Paulson was born on September 11, 1925 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Clayton and Albey (Arduser) Paulson. He was baptized and confirmed at Marion Lutheran Church and served on the church council. Connie raised purebred red, polled cattle and attended many state and county fairs with his parents. He farmed with his father and later with his sons. Connie earned a pilot’s license and owned his own plane. He served on the Marion Equity Elevator board as the secretary, and also on the Saratoga Township board.

Connie enjoyed league bowling, golfing, talking politics, watching sports of TV, working on older International tractors, mowing the farm yard with his John Deere mower, and making popcorn on Sunday afternoons. He married Ethelyn Smedshammer on April 24, 1949 and they celebrated 66 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children, Curtis (Sue) Paulson, Marion, Bradley Paulson, Marion, and Jan Gordon (Anne) Paulson, Glenwood, MN; grandchildren, Jodi (Darrin) Orner and their children, Faith and Tucker; Marissa (John) Dalke and their son, Robert; Sondra (Todd) Kirckof and their children, Benjamin and Charlotte; Erin Paulson; Laura Paulson; and Matthew Conrad Paulson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Albey Paulson and three brothers.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Marion Lutheran Church.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Marion Lutheran Church.

Interment: Lakeview Cemetery, Marion.
