Nina Nadeen Hintz passed away peacefully in her sleep with her beloved cat on her lap on July 23, 2015. She was born in Mandan, North Dakota on June 17, 1954 to Emil and Erna (Berreth) Hintz. She was raised on a farm near Glen Ullin, ND and attended school there. In 1976, Nina graduated from Dickinson State University with a B.S. in Chemistry. For the next seven years, she worked at the Medical Laboratory in Huron, SD. In 1983, she moved to Jamestown, ND and began working at Jamestown Hospital, which she continued for the next 30 years. Her final 2 years she spent at home battling with ALS.

Nina enjoyed traveling, hiking, biking, camping and spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Relay for Life, Jamestown Regional Medical Center, women of Today, and ALS Organization.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis & Ava Hintz; nieces, Mara Hintz and April & Titus Stenberg; aunt, Lorraine Berreth; her best friend, Jay Nitschke; and her cat, Twister.

Nina was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Elmo Herman officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown

Interment: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the German Evangelical Congregational Cemetery, rural Glen Ullin, ND.
