BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Concealed-carry permit holders will have more places where they can legally have firearms.

NDcapitolstatenewsA new measure that goes into effect on Saturday allows permitted gun owners to pack heat at public parks, political functions, musical concerts, public rest areas and liquor stores. The bill also allows people to carry a single-shot electronic stun gun without having to obtain a concealed-carry permit.

The measure is among more than 300 new laws that take effect Aug. 1.

One new law will allow restaurants to serve alcohol at 11 a.m. instead of noon on Sundays.

Another new law makes it a crime to post sexually explicit images of someone online without their consent. That law also allows for a victim of the postings to pursue civil damages.

On August 1, 2015, a covered farm vehicle with a regular license plate will need to have a designation form inside the vehicle when transporting farm or ranch products. This federal exemption allows regularly plated North Dakota vehicles, not falling into the farm plate category, to move their own agriculture products and still qualify for relief from certain commercial driver’s license (CDL) regulations.

This requirement does not affect current farm exemptions for vehicles which have farm plates.
