WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) – Authorities in southeastern North Dakota say some residents are being targeted by a jury duty scam.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Office says people have been receiving calls from someone claiming to be a representative of the department.
The caller tells residents there is a warrant out for their arrest for failing to report for jury duty. Residents are told to call an out-of-state number to arrange a $900 payment to cover bond.
People are advised to contact law enforcement if they receive a similar call.
