Jamestown (CSi) A line of thunderstorms Saturday evening, stemming from a cold front, missed Jamestown but cause damages in the Spiritwood Lake area, including damage to a cabin, from high wind.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning around 8:05 p.m. Saturday for northeastern Stutsman County.
Reports say uprooted trees resulted from the 70 MPH wind.
Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist said that Stutsman County Communications received two storm related calls Satuday evening, including one from the Sandy Beach area on the south side of Spiritwood Lake, where a resident reported a tree down across his driveway and he couldn’t get out.
Stutsman County Sheriff’s deputies pulled the tree off of the driveway with the patrol trucks, so the resident could get out.
Another deputy who stopped by a farm about a mile east of Spiritwood Lake and took a report of downed trees and 70 mph winds.
Overall, no injuries were reported and no significant damage to buildings.
