Wrigley-LtGovBISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s Republican Lt. Gov. Drew Wrigley says he had an extramarital affair in the past and he is still considering running for the governor’s office.

Wrigley spoke to The Associated Press on Tuesday with his wife at his side. It came hours after a left-leaning blog alluded to a “messy personal situation” involving Wrigley. But the Wrigleys said their decision to reveal the affair was their own.

Wrigley has been weighing a bid to run for governor since Gov. Jack Dalrymple announced he wouldn’t seek another term. He told AP he’s still “actively considering” it.

Wrigley said the affair is over and he had told Dalrymple about it shortly after he told his wife several months ago. Dalrymple’s spokesman said the governor continues to have faith in Wrigley.
