ArborDayPlantJamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Forestry Department is declaring TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2015 as ARBOR DAY for the City of Jamestown.

The Arbor Day celebration wias be at 5:00 pm. at Jamestown’s Gravel Bed Nursery located at Hillcrest Golf Course, west of the maintenance buildings. Please park in the parking lots west of the soccer field.

The celebration  continued at Solien & DeNault Park with a tree planting and refreshments.

The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce reports that City Forester, Doug Wiles, who is also a City Beautification committee member, provided two bare-root trees for the plantings. These bare-root trees are allowed to mature for one year in the city gravel bed nursery before being transplanted into the various city parks. Gabby Tweeten, Little Miss North Dakota Princess, helped Wiles with the planting of the trees, along with committee members and other interested people. Food and refreshments were provided by the City Beautification Committee for approximately 25 who attended this celebration.
