justiceTHUMBVALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) – A man convicted of attempted murder in Kansas 23 years ago is to be sentenced Jan. 4 in federal court in North Dakota after being caught in the state with guns.

Fifty-seven-year-old Robert Synoracki pleaded guilty recently to being a felon in possession of guns and ammunition, and possessing stolen firearms. He could face up to 15 years in prison if prosecutors prove he is a career offender, which he disputes.

Authorities say Synoracki was driving a stolen car with seven guns inside when he was arrested a year ago in Jamestown.

Synoracki was convicted of attempted murder in Kansas’ McPherson County in 1992 and paroled in September 2014.
