Spiritwood rail-2Jamestown (CSi) The Spiritwood Energy Park Association Board of Directors has approved compatible transloading rail-loop operations by third-party users.

There are no cost projections at this time,but SEPA is looking at the possibility of building a gravel road to join Stutsman County Road 40 north of the Energy Park or an optional gravel road that would connect to Interstate 94 south of the Energy Park.

SEPA Project Manager Rich Garman says a tenant operations committee was formed including a SEPA member, along with Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation, CEO Connie Ova, key tenants and Garman.

Ova was named chief operating officer of the tenant operations committee, as it’s necessary to work directly with third-party users and to set rents, Garman said, and Ova would report to the SEPA Board.

Transient tenant opportunities for short-term projects include setting aside ground to offload and lay wind turbine parts with a 12- to 24-month storage lease for temporary projects. Roads may need upgrading within the Energy Park for the turbine project and other proposed transloading and storage projects, he said.
