Foster County: Call before you burn

Carrington  (CSi)  Foster County Emergency Manager Jess Earle is asking residents to call before doing any contolled open burning.

Foster County is not in a burn ban and fire conditions are low to moderate.

However,  controlled burning plans should be reported to the Foster County Sheriff’s Department at 701-652-2251 or Emergency Management at 701-652-2252.

Earle says, “We pass this information on the the fire departments so they don’t need to respond – unless the fire gets out of control or creates other hazards.” Windy days coupled  with dry conditions allow a fire to spread rapidly and quickly get out of control.
