oilpipelineBISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is accepting public comments on an environmental study for a water pipeline project in Cooperstown.
 
     The plan calls for five miles of 9-inch PVC pipe to be placed from the Cooperstown wells to the city’s water treatment plant. The federal government is paying for $2.2 million of $2.9 million project.
 
     The pipeline is part of the corps’ environmental infrastructure program. Similar projects have been completed in Fort Abercrombie and Minot.
 
     The environmental study is available online at http://www.mvp.usace.army.mil/Home/PublicNotices.aspx .
 
     Comments will be accepted until Jan. 5.
