HumaneSocietyCatJamestown (CSi) The James River Humane Society has placed a donation box and a Christmas tree at the Buffalo Mall, next to Home of Economy. That’s in addition to the donation box at Hugo’s in Jamestown.

On Friday’s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Humane Society President, Matt Opsahl also said that a fundraiser for the shelter is planned for April 2, 2016.

An Elvis impersonator will perform at 7-p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jamestown.

Tickets will be $25. Hors d’oeurves will be served. Included in the ticket will be a cash raffle.

He pointed out that there is a job opening for a weekend employee, twice monthly, from 7-a.m., to noon, includes cleaning, feeding, giving meds, and bringing some animals outdoors.

Opsahl added that the Shelter also recently participated in an animal rescue, with some new dogs and puppies now is residence.

Over all there are 16 dogs and 15 cats available currently for adoption.

The James River Humane Society is open every day from 9-a.m., to noon and 5:30-p.m., to 6:30-p.m., and by appointment.
