Cellphone2Jamestown (CSi) The South Central Dakota Regional Council Personnel Policy Committee report, was discussed, Monday, looking at obtaining individual business cell phones.

Executive Director, Deb Kantrud noted that last month she reached the board via text message about a canceled meeting due to weather, because she was worried members wouldn’t check their email in time.

Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation CEO Connie Ova suggested a stipend for cellphone bills, adding that if anything needed to be investigated for open records, personal devices would have to be confiscated.

Kantrud said she plans to research the idea further.

The board also reviwed its social media policies, saying employees are not allowed to post confidential or proprietary information about the SCDRC on their social media accounts.

The council’s logo can’t be used on social media sites without the permission of the executive board, the SCDRC name can’t be used for personal promotion, and the SCDRC’s computers are reserved for the organization’s use.
