Valley City (CSi) Officials with the Griggs/Barnes County Joint Water Resource District Boards will hold a public hearing, on January 14, 2016, concerning the establishment of the Silver Creek drain, at the Hannaford Wildlife Club, at 7-p.m.
Then, another special meeting will be held on January 25th at 4pm at the board meeting room at the Barnes County Highway Department offices northwest of Valley City, where ballots will be counted, concerning the Silver Creek drain.
Under the plan a portion of Rose Slough would be drained into the Sheyenne River. Barnes County Water Resource District board member, Dale Jorrison says culverts would be used to drain water.
He says the estimated cost is about $750,000. The cost share ratio would be a 60/40 split with Barnes County picking up the greater share.
