Phone scam, false fire department fundraiser

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – The Fargo Fire Department is warning area residents about a fundraising scam.

Officials say callers are making telephone solicitations saying they are with the Fire Department and that funds will be used for fire victims and important equipment.

The Fire Department says it does not participate in phone solicitations to raise funds, nor does it endorse any groups that make such calls.
