MoszerJasonFargoPDFARGO (AP)   The suspect, 49-year-old Marcus Schumacher of Fargo was found shot to death in the home in North Fargo,  where he barricaded himself for about 11 hours from late Wednesday evening to early Thursday morning,  firing numerous rounds at law enforcement.  Officer Jason Moszer, was shot by Schumacher during the standoff. The injured officer, Jason Moszer died Thursday afternoon about 12:45, according to Fargo Deputy Police Chief Joe Anderson.

Moszer was the first Fargo officer to die in the line of duty in more than a century.

Police Chief David Todd says a SWAT team entered the Fargo home shortly before dawn Thursday and found the man’s body. Todd says he doesn’t know if the suspect was hit in an earlier exchange of gunfire with a SWAT officer or if he shot himself.

SchumacherMarcus150The standoff began Wednesday evening following a domestic violence report. Police said the suspect fired multiple rounds from inside the home, seriously injuring Moszer. Todd says Moszer is in a hospital and that his family is “saying goodbye to him.”

Moszer was the officer shot during Wednesday night’s standoff in North Fargo.
