Jamestown (CSi) The Stutsman County Commission has approved looking into contracting to a third party for support work for its computer systems.
Commissioners unanimously approved authorizing the county’s I.T. Director Josh Smaage to research costs since the county has not been able to hire an assistant for the department in eight months.
In other business, the commission approved accepting a Courthouse Facility Grant for about $11,000 to improve courtroom security in the courtrooms of the Stutsman County Courthouse from the state of North Dakota. The county’s share will be 25 percent, and the project adds security cameras in some of the halls near the courtrooms and adds bulletproof panels to the desk areas of court clerks and reporters in the courtroom. The judge’s bench is already protected by bulletproof panels.
