Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The scene of the Feb 17, 2012 fire in the 300 block of First Avenue North in Jamestown is being further processed.
City Fire Chief Jim Reuther says the scene at the Vining Oil Company building which was destroyed in the fire is secured with fencing by the insurance company investigators.
He expects more information stemming from the investigation within the next week or two.
The main floor is being processed, followed by gaining access to the basement.
Chief Reuther earlier reported the fire was “accidental,” and was caused by an electrical problem with a tractor stored in the building.
Some fire damage and smoke and water damage was inflicted to the adjoining former Elks building to the south of the Vining building.
The surrounding streets are still blocked or have limited access to traffic.
Those streets closed to motorists until further notice are:
..3rd St NW between 1st Ave and 2nd Ave NW
..South Bound traffic on 1st Ave N from 4th St NW to 3rd St NW
Motorists should use alternate routes and use EXTREME caution in and around this area.
