Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Apr 22, 2012) — Three Units of the Jamestown City Fire Department were called out about 1:15 p.m. Saturday April 21 to stand by at Jamestown Regional Airport.

City Fire Chief Jim Reuther, says a plane scheduled to land was having a mechanical problem, but landed without incident, with three city fire units and the airport’s fire and rescue truck standing by.

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News April 20, 2012 – 10:45PM) – Great Lakes flight 297 enroute from Minneapolis to Jamestown, with 7 passengers aboard, reported smoke in the cockpit Friday April 20, 2012 evening prior to landing.

Ben Maulding, Air Rescue Fire Fighter for Jamestown Regional Airport, explained to CSi Videographer Thomas Ravely that dispatch received a call from Minneapolis Center that the inbound craft had experienced smoke in the cockpit and the flight crew had it under control. The plane landed at Jamestown Regional Airport without incident. Airport ARF (air rescue firefighters) were on hand. 

The seven passengers deplaned safety at Jamestown and the Williston bound passengers will remain in Jamestown for the evening. Great Lakes will be sending mechanics to inspect the airplane.

Accoring to the Garden City Telegram, on April 1, 2012, a Great Lakes flight landed safely at Garden City Kansas without power to one of its engines.
