Jamestown (CSi) The cause of a Saturday power outage in Jamestown was caused by an underground equipment failure.

The outage affected about 2,300 Jamestown residents without service for a half hour.

Otter Tail Power Company reports that the outage occurred at about 12:05Ottertail small picture p.m., and affected two circuits in Jamestown.

Around 1,307 customers were affected on the north circuit, which is north of 3rd Street Northeast and east of 12th Avenue Northeast, to the University of Jamestown water tower. The customers were without power for about 30 minutes.

Around 985 customers were affected on the south circuit, which is south of 3rd Street Southeast to about 8th Avenue and down to the North Dakota State Hospital road, to include areas along 10th Street Southeast and southeast Business Loop.  ThOse customers were without service for around 20 minutes.
