Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Fire Department was called out at 4:50am Weds morning, to a utility pole on fire in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue Southwest.
Three city fire units were called to the scene.
Otter Tail Power Company’s Jeff Hoff at the Jamestown office says, the fire itself did not cause a power outage, however the power was turned off about 7-a.m., until 8:50-a.m, to allow crews to disconnect the power to repair the pole’s cross-arms and replacement the insulator.
He says the power outage was limited to the small area of the fire.
The cause was a faulty insulator, as the morning rain entered the equipment causing it to fail.
