Jamestown (CSi) University of Jamestown head hockey coach Dean Stork announces the signing of Garrett Browning of Winnipeg, Manitoba, who will join the Jimmies in the 2016-17 season.
Browning is a 6’7″, 230-pound defenseman who played for the Winnipeg Blues in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League in 2015-16. In 54 games, he recorded six goals and eight assists along with 131 penalty minutes. In 11 playoff games, Browning was credited with one assist.
Stork says, “Garrett is a very tough competitor. His long reach and excellent stick positioning make him a monster on the ice. He covers a lot of ground, making it hard for opposing forwards to penetrate the front of the net. Garrett can also produce some offense with his hammer of a slap shot. He has worn a letter at the junior level and I can see him being a very valuable part of our leadership group in Jamestown.”
