SplonskowskiJamestown  (CSi)   Jamestown Regional Medical Center recently held its annual volunteer recognition banquet and is proud to announce Carol Splonskowski as the 2015 Auxilian of the Year and Ella Thoms as the 2015 Volunteer of the Year. Carol has volunteered 2,065 hours since beginning her volunteer career with JRMC in 2010. She spends most of her time in the Surgery Center and the Gift Shoppe, and is quick to pick up extra shifts when needed. Ella volunteers primarily at the Front Desk and has served over 1,031 hours since 2010. She is always eager to help any department whether she is assisting the Foundation with mailings or organizing the wheelchairs in the main entrance. Carol and Ella also participate in fundraising events for the hospital and are members of the JRMC Auxiliary. Other volunteers who were honored include:

1000 Hours of Service: Lola Rudnick, Shirley Flieth

500 Hours of Service: Audrey Barnes, Bluette Clancy, Cindy Grimm, Gloria Harr, Lynell Madsoe

100 Hours of Service: Betty Geigle, Cora Hayes, Deb Heim, Kay Hust, Barbara Miller, Larue Odenbach, Julie Wade, Sandy Washburn

“Not only are the volunteers helping improve work flow and efficiency at JRMC, they are working each day to improve the lives and experiences of our patients.　Volunteers are also our biggest ambassadors to the community,” says Tiffany Wilkerson, JRMC Volunteer and Gift Shoppe Coordinator. “They truly are invaluable!”

Volunteers at JRMC volunteer as little as 1 hour a week or as much as 50 hours a month. Positions range from clerical work to escorting patients around the hospital to working in patient care areas. Some assignments can be done from home while others are on sight at the hospital.
