Jamestown (Chamber) – The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce AgEnergy Committee invites the public to the annual AgEnergy Luncheon on Tuesday, October 15, at 12:00 p.m. at North Dakota Farmers Union Insurance Headquarters, 1415 12th Ave. SE in Jamestown.
This year’s event centers on the vital connection between agriculture and energy, two industries that continue to shape the region’s economy and future. The featured speaker will be Dr. Frayne Olson, NDSU Associate Professor of Agribusiness and Applied Economics. Dr. Olson also serves as the Crop Economist and Marketing Specialist for NDSU Extension and as Director of the Quentin Burdick Center for Cooperatives.
Drawing from decades of experience, Dr. Olson works closely with producers, agribusiness leaders, and policymakers across North Dakota. His presentation will explore current trends in agricultural markets and how shifting energy dynamics influence farm operations, input costs, and cooperative business models. Attendees can expect valuable insight into how these two key sectors continue to evolve together to sustain rural communities and drive innovation.
Dr. Olson earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural economics from NDSU and holds a doctorate in agricultural economics from the University of Missouri. Since 1987, he has combined research, outreach, and real-world application to strengthen North Dakota’s agriculture industry through his work with NDSU Extension and the Quentin Burdick Center for Cooperatives.
Tickets for the luncheon are $10 and can be purchased online at JamestownChamber.com or in person at the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce, 120 2nd St. SE, Jamestown.
